When you use public transportation, this is the application you need. It has realtime information on public transportation with maps and timetables. You can follow up when your next bus is coming for the best planning. You can even buy tickets for the public transportation, day passes and weekly passes. You will find the latest travel news and timetable changes.

Another OFFLINE route planner and time table manager application for the public transportation in Budapest.
You can plan your route offline, you can save favourite routes and you can check time table as well.
WOLT
This is the best app for ordering food in Budapest. You can get great food with fast and reliable delivery and even groceries delivered to your door. You can track your order real time with the delivery tracker option. You pay within the application, not to the delivery person. BOLT
The cheapest option for getting a taxi. Uber and Lyfts are prohibited in Budapest, and all the taxi companies charge the same amount, no matter which company you use. However, please note that catching a taxi on the street could be a very expensive option because there are taxi scams to be aware of. Bolt is the cheapest option to use a taxi.
OFFLINE CURRENCY CONVERTER
Although Hungary is part of the European Union, Hungary DOES NOT use EUR. The currency in Hungary is Forint (Ft). This can be difficult sometimes and I recommend to have an offline currency converter just in case, as there are money changer scams as well. In Budapest city center, there are some shops you can pay with EUR, but their rate is not reasonable at all. If you are not aware of the right change, you can loose money. When I travel abroad, I use xe.com, as it works offline as well.
FLUSH (Toilet finder)
Budapest is very good with public bathrooms, and with this app, you can easily find one on the way. The app shows the nearest toilets to you.

It is a wifi finder app that navigates you all the public and shared hotspots around you, showing passwords.
